Windows 10 is an operating system for personal computers, tablets, integrated systems and devices on the web that is widely used in the world.
In July 2015, Microsoft published Windows 10 as a Windows 8 follow-up. The firm said it will perpetually update Windows 10 instead of releasing it as a full-fledged operating system. Anyone who adopts Windows 10 will be able to upgrade legacy devices instantly from Windows 7 or Windows 8 to Windows 10 without reimaging or performing intrusive and time-consuming system wipes and upgrades. To upgrade from a prior version of Windows 10, IT or users run the Windows 10 OS installer that transfers any apps and software on the prior OS, and also some settings and opinions over to Windows 10.
Windows operates on 86% of the world’s pcs with Windows 10 running on 47%. That’s truly incredible! Microsoft continues to release fresh updates with upgrades and patches every few weeks to do justice to such a large customer base.
Not everybody is blessed with stable connectivity, however, and many users often complain about ineffective efforts at updating. That resulted in users wondering whether these updates could be installed in an offline mode on Windows 10 PC. So I’m suggesting that you should install offline for the specific updates.

And if they have restricted bandwidth-based Internet links to install Windows 10, it might be problematic for the users.
To install the recent Windows 10 on PCs or laptops rapidly, we’ll give Windows 10 offline techniques below and guide you to install and update Windows 10 offline with easy measures as shown below:
Download Updates Locally
Not everyone has a super-fast connection to the Internet and many users are on a slow network. Microsoft has launched a new function with Windows 10 to assist customers to download updates from another computer that has already got the update on your LAN network. Why download the files when you can simply download them?
Make sure both computers are linked to the same network.
- Use the search function to find Delivery Optimization settings from the Settings window.
- That’s where you’re going to toggle Allow downloads from other PCs and select PCs on my local network.
You need to check for updates manually once because you are using a local network. If they are detected by Windows on the local network computer, they will start downloading.
Download in Advance
One thing is downloading an update and another is installing those updates. These are two different events that can help make a call knowing the difference. You can download these updates in advance if you want to install updates offline on Windows 10 for any reason.
To do this, go to Settings and select Updates & Security by pressing Windows Key+I on your keyboard.
If you already downloaded some updates but they’re not installed. Then to install these updates, Windows asks you to restart or schedule the restart. Then what you have to do you schedule updates so that you don’t end up wasting your working hours on watching the upgrades installed on your PC.
You will see an alternative to download them when updates are discovered. To get updates when you are attached to the Internet, click the download button in the above screen. Then you can install them offline later.
Click Schedule the restart and select a time to plan the installation of updates at a subsequent stage in time. It’s got to be the same day.
Media Creation Tool
Media Creation Tool from Microsoft allows users to create bootable USB flash drives or burn. ISO to a DVD. I prefer USB drives because if something goes wrong, you can always begin over. The tool is only accessible after selecting the correct Windows 10 version (32-bit or 64-bit) for yourself has been finished.
- Select Create Installation Media for another PC after you have approved the ToS.
- It will automatically detect your language, edition of Windows, and architecture or you can manually pick it. Then Click Next.
- That is where you will select the USB drive, but you can choose to burn the.ISO file to a DVD.
- If you have more than one connected then choose your flash drive and click Next.
- Now you will see the download process will start. It may take a while, depending on the size of the update. Click on the finish when done.
- Updates are now available on a USB drive whenever you want, you can upgrade. To begin the process, simply connect the USB drive again and double-click the Setup.exe file.
Notice—To install the updates, select ‘ Keep personal files and apps ‘ here. Otherwise, your hard disk or SSD may lose information.
- Click the Install button on the next screen and wait to install the updates. Windows may take time to update, and your PC will reboot several times, so don’t worry.
Sometimes on their official website, Microsoft will publish the.exe files of updates or patches. If so, you can download it from there and subsequently install it without an active attachment to the Internet.
Windows Update Catalog
For a specific OS, Windows retains a catalog of all the updates it has published. You can download and install an update directly from this catalog(.exe file) on any PC without an Internet connection. Use the connection below to visit the catalog homepage. If you understand it, search for your version of OS or update your name.
- To save the file locally click on the download button. Then after it to install the file just double-click on the downloaded file
Update to Upgrade
I know that many of you are unwilling to install updates for Windows, believing that something might break. Well, those days are long gone. I suggest that you frequently update Windows 10 to fix all possible security gaps and other bugs. If you want to install these updates manually for some reason, you should use one of the above methods. I avoided using a third-party tool for safety purposes here.
